Ouch...

Today, I got the necessary shots needed for Peru. (plus a few extra :)  Totally up to date for this summer.  (Just a bit of a sore arm today... but Subway and icecream floats help that :) 

Stuff is getting done! Just 120 days until I leave!!!  Exciting! :-)

I GOT A PLANE TICKET!!!

Today, I purchased one of my plane tickets today for this summer!  

I'm going to leave the May 28th and get back the July 31st.  God has already given me enough money to get one.  I'm so excited!

Leave Orlando - 2:54pm

Get into Panama City, Panama - 5:16pm

Leave Panama City - 6:50pm

Get into Lima - 10:27pm

Leave Lima - 6:00am

Get into Cusco - 7:10am

Then ride 2 hours after getting into Cusco, and then... I made it!  (The town where I will be staying is called Urubamba.)  From Orlando to Lima is one flight, so I won't have to worry about getting my luggage out and re-checking it.  I'll put it on in Orlando and take it out in Lima. 

I'm so excited!

Why 1031?

Some people might be wondering why in both my email and blog name the 1031 shows up... Well, 1 Corinthians 10:31 is my favorite verse.

1 Corinthians 10:31 

"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."

This is what I hope to do this summer in Peru.... glorify God in all that I do! I hope that somehow people around me can see Him at work through my life!

Happy New Year!

Happy 2014!  

Looking forward to seeing what God will do in me and through me in this upcoming year!  

For those of you who know don't know, I'm going to be going on a missions trip to Peru this summer for 2 months. (beginning of June - beginning of August)  I'm really excited to have this opportunity!  Through this blog, I hope to keep everyone updated on my progress to Peru, and once I get there with pictures and updates.  

I will have many different outreaches that I can be a part of once I get to Peru. I'll be staying with a single missionary named Rachel Tarvin (http://bmmcusco.org/rachel/) with Baptist Mid Missions.  I will be working with kids in AWANA (as a Sparks leader) puppets, Christian school, and getting to know the seminary students and attending some classes.  Hopefully we will get to take a trip into the jungle, and help prepare and take a missions trip with the seminary students to the border of Bolivia and Peru. Along with other preparations and projects in Peru, I should have a very busy summer!  Definitely looking forward to it!
